Q. We would like to purchase property (an apartment) in Spain. Being an owner of an apartment in Spain, are there any chances to apply or to get immediately permanent residence in Spain and set up our own business?

Kate Krav
Sweden

    A. Yes you can get residency fairly quickly. If you own a property, you have a regular income and provided you take out a medical insurance, you will get your residency permit in a maximum of four months. Once the property is in your name, you can commence the application procedure at your local police station.

With regards to setting up a business, there is no legal impediment other than the normal licences and authorisations from the relevant administrative offices.
